US PORT OF ENTRY
Evansville has been a US Customs Port of Entry for more than 125 years. In the early days international shipments were cleared by the Port Director who was located in the Customs House. Today, the Port Director is housed in the Federal Building on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Evansville. Because of the Customs office in Evansville, it is possible to have international cargo shipped to Evansville in bond. The international cargo can then clear Customs in Evansville rather than a coastal port.

Foreign Trade Zone #177 and Sub-Zone 177-A are under the jurisdiction of the US Customs office in Evansville.
